Learn and Serve Eight

On Tuesday when i went to learn and serve Mrs. Johnson told me that we had a new student in the class who came to the class last week. When the new student came in the students that set next to him said hello and asked how he was. I know how it feels to be a new student at a new school in a new classroom. It is very scary and as a student you get every nervous to be accepted by peers in the classroom. During the class we discussed the pilgrims and what is the meaning of thanks giving. We spilt the class up into 3 groups of 5 student Mrs. Johnson, me, and another teacher that comes in the class had different readings for the students to learn about the pilgrims. Then we gathered the students around and asked each student what they are thankful for this year many of the students said that they were thankful for the moms and dads. This class made me remember when i was in elementary school and we dressed up as pilgrims. We should the students picture of what the pilgrims life was like. I really enjoyed this class today.

Learn and Serve Seven

Today at learn and serve i watched Mrs. Jonhson work with the studnets with there morning work and get kid who have been sick caught up on work. During math the class learned about shapes. The learned about how many sides a shape has and how many vertices and shape has. We slipt the students up into groups and had the groups do problems out of their math books. My group had a very good understand about shapes.

November 5

Today in class we work with opportunities unlimited. My group work with Amanda she was very nice a quite. We first took her to the Art museum because she has never been there before. We took pictures about being personable with people and how people react with each other. Next we went to gally and took video of being rude towards people. Finally we came back to the room and went to stations the stations were story, play doh, fort, and intelligence. My group worked in the play doh station and the story station. I feel that these stations were to see what the student knows and how they learn.



Describe you experience I enjoyed it thought it was very instresting. Amanda was great she was such a sweet girl. It was nice to see the studnet enjoying themselves with us. I learned a lot about adults with disablities they need support to they need encourage meant from those around them.

What did you notice? During the activity i notice that Amanda was nervous around us i would ask Amanda question to make her feel more welcomed to working with us.

how did you feel? I loved it. It made me feel that i made Amada day she was so happy to be with us walking around school i really enjoyed what we did

Learn and Serve Six

Today at learn and serve i worked with the student on their computer game called fast forward. I had to help the sometimes to remind them to listen closely to the sounds that they were hearing. After Mrs. Johnson spilt the students up into group and i was giving a math sheet to work with student in all the groups. On my worksheet the students were give numbers and asked to figure out what number belongs in the ones, tens and hundrers place. This came very easy to the student because they have been working on this for weeks. Finally i worked with the students on there vocab. Each week Mrs. Johnson gives the student a bag with a letter on it with all words starting with that letter. Then the students are asked to say the words from the bag they were giving. I was very suprised to see some of the student knew very hard words for second grade.
